Lubo Tam: Impact Timeline
"Impact Timeline" introduces a concept that allows individuals to transcend the constraints of time and resources to envision their ideal world and achieve their greatest ambitions. The author describes it as a process of immersing oneself in a timeline where all desires have been fulfilled, and recording insights and ideas from that space. This exercise is best done in a quiet environment, free from distractions, where one can tap into their mental energy and explore different dimensions. The Impact Timeline serves as a portal for reimagining and reinventing our world, both individually and collectively. By traveling to this timeline and seeking answers to specific questions, one can bridge the gap between their present reality and the envisioned world. The chapter emphasizes that time is not a constraint in the Impact Timeline, and the focus is on finding answers rather than when they are achieved. The author encourages documenting the characteristics and details of the envisioned world, creating a bridge between the two realms. The chapter also raises the notion that great achievements may extend beyond one's lifetime, prompting individuals to consider initiating endeavors that may benefit future generations.

What if you removed the constraint of time, lack of certain resources as disqualifiers to achieving your objective? What if you could have an ideal scenario, where you have everything you want and everything else is available as you wish? It's kind of like having a genie moment, as they portray in movies, but in this scenario, you are already living in the reality of your wishes. That is a process I have been studying and applying to my life; I called it the Impact Timeline. Impact timeline is creating an ideal world of your dreams and greatest ambitions and removing all inhibiting factors. In other words, it’s like you found the answer to your hardest question. I use this process when I get a new idea or if I want to understand the possibilities and endpoint of that idea. A good chapter that may compliment this concept is the one I covered on imagination and memory.

So how does Impact Timeline work, or how do you apply it? First, know what you want; again, the previous chapter on wants may clarify bits of that inquiry. When you find out what it is that you want. You put yourself in that timeline where you have obtained everything you want. Now spend time there, this exercise is best done in an environment where there is some quiet and you can spend time with yourself without distraction. Have a notepad handy or something you can use to record ideas from that timeline. When people say that we are not capable of time travel, I sometimes think we have always been doing it, just in a different dimension. We may not yet be physically able to shift our bodies, but we can move a great deal of our mental energy to any dimension of our desire. If we spend some time there, we may obtain some answers that we could possibly use in our current physical timeline. Exercises like Impact Timeline are the portals we can use as individuals or as a community to reimagine and reinvent our world.

So, what sort of information do you collect when you travel to your Impact Timeline? Well, everything and anything, but before you travel there; it is probably good to note down some questions that you may want answers to. So that you can find ways to bridge those worlds. When you are in the Impact Timeline and cannot find an answer to that question, you simply move the timeline forward. So, one thing to also mention is that time is not a constraint, nor are resources in Impact Timeline. You can move any length of time ahead or back, as the answer is the priority, not when it is achieved. The when is not important in this factor. When you get to the point where you find the answer that you are after; note down what that world looks like. You can be as detailed as you like. What exists in that timeline and what doesn’t? What are the physical characteristics of that world? What are the social characteristics of that world? What are the emotional characteristics of that world? What are the environmental characteristics of that world? So whatever question you wanted to get answers for, live in the answer and absorb everything it possesses.

Noting down some of the responses after your travels will create a bridge between these worlds. When you can create a bridge, the next thing that you start to think about is the mode of transport and how fast you want that mode of transport to be. Just before I wrap up this chapter, I want to touch base on something. I may have covered this slightly in the memory and imagination chapter. I feel that we as humans currently have a limitation in that we believe that everything great or worthwhile must be achieved within our lifetime. The reason why I wanted to bring up this point; you might find in your Impact Timeline that to reach the world that you envision, it will take 10 years, 50 years, 100 years, 500 years, 1000 years, or much further away. The question then will be whether you will have the desire to initiate something that may not benefit you as the end product.
